Dos and Don’ts TIPS for a FUN SAFE WHOLESOME Halloween from queen of makeovers Dianne Hanks:

Do’s and Don’ts:

Don’t:

Don’t be a dud……..booooooo!

Don’t be ridiculously skanky, slutty, or immodest

Don’t be too scary, gross, or gory

Don’t be terrifyingly evil

Don’t wear a mask

Don’t have costumes that limit your vision

Do:

DO Be safe

DO Cherish your little laughing memories of great costumes you’ve seen

DO Have FUN!

DO Be modest

DO Be wholesome

DO Be topical–what’s hot in the news, what’s fresh?

DO Be funny

DO Be creative with makeup and other facial appendages

DO Look at yourself and enhance or magnify one of your own features to exaggerate it into a costume

Examples:

Hans and Frans from Saturday Night Live, gray sweats with fake muscles inside

Bob’s Big Boy: red and white checkers overalls, hair in a pompadour, carrying a big hamburger

Marionette or Puppet

Guy from the movie HOLES, (should see that it’s so good)

How to PREPARE your face:

put on moisturizer before you put on any foundation or base for easier clean up after the festivities

I once got my old torn terry cloth robe and my big pink bunny slippers and I put big pink sponge curlers putting them in sloppy with hair sticking out all over. I put on a mint green mask all over my face. I then put the most tackiest house dress, I tied my holey old robe loosely. The effect was what I considered a tacky house wife. It cost me nothing to put together and a achieved what I wanted making people laugh. I also won first place with a check for 300.00 dollars!
